It is a shame it hasn't come to our shores.

I am an Australian who has little knowledge of Sarah Palin (or any of the other names you mentioned), but from the little I have seen of her in documentaries or news footage, she is portrayed as a slightly loony right wing politician whom nobody really takes seriously. According to your article this is clearly a misrepresentation. The media has always loved to make Christians look stupid, although let's face it there are supposed 'christian' politicians who do a lot of stupid things and then still expect the support of the 'moral majority'.

I find it interesting however, that in the event a female politician is attacked here in Australia, the attacker will immediately be accused of being a misogynist. Our former Prime Minister Julie Gillard, a left-wing politician who came to power through the ousting of her boss Kevin Rudd, was going great guns as far as the feminists were concerned, then when she began losing power within her own party and popularity with the people, she still kept on her feminist agenda that she was only being portrayed badly because she was a woman.

I am a woman and I have never supported Julia Gillard or her party, and I found it truly appalling that I was supposed to support her because I was a woman. I support a politician because of what they actually do with their power to develop and help the less fortunate in our nation, not because of their gender.

I also don't support a politician regardless of gender because they claim to be a Christian. I have learned to judge others by their actions not their words, and frankly, most politicians I have seen have little credibility because of this.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
